Activator/accelerator for instant (cyanoacrylate) adhesives in aerosol packaging with new safer formula conforming to the latest EU directives. Used to accelerate the curing of instant adhesives in conditions unfavourable to their natural curing (reaction with air moisture or water contained in the glued parts) in dry environments in cold conditions when glueing inactive materials or when applying a thick layer of adhesive. The product contains a proprietary polymerization activating component of the instant adhesive solvents (acetone) and propellant gas (propane/butane). For this reason it must not be used when bonding materials that are not resistant to organic solvents (e.g. polystyrene foam).
Application: the accelerator is applied from a distance of 20–25 cm on clean and dry surfaces the optimum working temperature range is +10 °C to +30 °C. It can be applied in one of two basic ways:
- Small parts: Apply the accelerator to one glued surface and allow it to dry (it remains active for several hours). Then apply the instant adhesive to the other mating surface and adhere to the parts.
- Large parts: Apply hot melt adhesive to one mating surface press the parts together and spray the joint with the accelerator.
Suitable for: instant adhesives when bonding organic solvent-resistant materials.
Not suitable for: polystyrene foam and other materials that are not resistant to organic solvents or elevated temperatures (accelerated polymerisation of the adhesive can release significant amounts of heat leading to heating of the bonded joint and its surroundings - the greater the amount of adhesive used).
Storing: in a tightly closed container in a cool dry and dark place (at +5 °C to +25 °C). Do not expose to temperatures below +2 °C.
Shelf life: under proper storage conditions we guarantee a shelf life of 1 year in the unopened original packaging while maintaining the above product properties.
